BANYAI Arts Education is proud to present this innovative first-of-its-kind presentation on Kabuki in the classroom and performance workshop environments.
Kabuki Performance via Kata introduces you and your students to essential skills and techniques for performing Asian theatre in the Western classroom.
The presenter, Goran Banyai, takes you step-by-step through a student workshop that empowers you and your students to explore the physicality, facial expression, and gesture of the key characters of Kabuki.
Teachers and students have the opportunity to explore stylized theatre and ritual through the process of creating a character using KA (music), BU (dance), KI (acting/skill), and simple, structured Kata (movement sequences).

As part of our relaunch in 2022, we will be releasing a new exciting resource for arts practitioners and actors looking for the most effective ways of engaging in the fundamental principles of Stanislavski’s acting system.
Based on over thirty years of research and tested practical knowledge, presenter Goran Banyai takes you through a hands-on process, giving you access to successful key acting techniques and skills designed to get ready for character and scene work.
Actors, students, and arts education practitioners will explore approaches to key Stanislavski techniques, including: Action, the Magic If, Objectives, Verbal and Non-verbal modes of communication to assist in creating, interpreting characters for solo and partner work, and developing performing scene work.
